Oct 10, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Independent television production shop Atlas Media has formed a digital division, dubbed Atlas Digital & Emerging Media. The new unit will develop and produce original content for mobile and online platforms.
The new group has inked a number of content deals. On Oct. 15, Atlas Digital will launch a dedicated channel on YouTube called Stounder that will feature the series “Things You Have to See to Believe” and “Dr. Strange Sex,” with advice from a sex therapist.
The group also is producing the series “Route 666: America’s Scariest Home Haunts” for FEARnet, the video-on-demand and broadband channel from Comcast, Sony and Lionsgate.
Atlas Media also is working on a project for Discovery Mobile and a Web series for Fuse.
Atlas Media is the latest production shop to launch a digital division. Warner Bros. Television Group last month announced plans to produce 23 short-form series for broadband and wireless.
Atlas Media has produced series for GSN, The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, A&E, PBS and others.

  1. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
