FremantleMedia Enterprise has snagged international rights to “Essence of Emeril,” bringing the renowned chef Emeril Lagasse’s series worldwide for the first time.
The deal, announced today at international television market Mipcom, gives FME distribution, home entertainment and ancillary rights to the show for international sales. There are currently 26 episodes of the half-hour series available.
“We know that Emeril offers entertainment with a capital E,” said David Ellender, CEO of FME. “His energetic and free-thinking style is nothing short of infectious and capable of delivering global audiences. Emeril is a welcome addition to FME’s strong and growing portfolio of lifestyle brands.”
The acquisition of “Essence of Emeril” further broadens FME’s portfolio of cooking series. The company currently has rights to programs featuring chefs Jamie Oliver, Kylie Kwong, Bill Granger, Neil Perry and Nancy Lam.
“I am extremely excited that the Emeril experience is going to be taken around the world,” said Mr. Lagasse. “I have been impressed with FME’s passion and commitment to this project and feel confident that they will achieve outstanding results.”
