Memorials Set for Robbins, Davis

Oct 12, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Memorial service arrangements have been announced for James O. Robbins, the former Cox Communications president who died of cancer Oct. 10, and broadcasting executive Gene A. Davis, who died Aug. 28 in New York City after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Two services are scheduled for Mr. Robbins, one in Boston near his hometown of Westport, Mass., and a second in Atlanta, where Cox has its headquarters. In Boston, the memorial will be held at 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Trinity Church in Copley Square. The Atlanta service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Oct. 27 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 634 W. Peachtree Road.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Robbins’ family has requested that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Mr. Davis, a longtime marketing professional for the industry, created the tagline “You give us 22 minutes … we’ll give you the world.” During his career, he handled broadcast promotional material for both print and on-air, for which he won well over two dozen major marketing awards and citations. As an independent producer, he created a series of documentaries including “Images and Realities” and “African-American Men.”
A memorial benefit for Mr. Davis has been scheduled for Oct. 27 in New York City and will help provide a scholarship at the Harlem School of the Arts. For more information, contact Debbie Taylor at (201) 541-0666 or via e-mail at taylorgrand@aol.com.

  11. What a relief to discover a page that might be at last in reality worth reading! I’ve been looking for all-around in relation to this matter but men and women just put junk posts, or short empty posts. I contain noticed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the equivalent as reading a good article.
