Oct 29, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Hulu, the online video venture between News Corp. and NBC Universal, is officially up and running today in a private beta test.
However, anyone can sign up for the test simply by visiting www.hulu.com and entering their email address.
With today’s test launch, Hulu has met its most recent self-imposed launch date of “by the end of October.” The partners had originally expected to launch the service in late summer or early fall.
The service is ad-supported and includes full-length episodes of prime-time shows from Fox, NBC, as well as cable networks such as FX and USA. Initial advertisers include Esurance, Axe, Cisco, Chevrolet and others.
Hulu will also distribute shows on Yahoo, AOL, MySpace, MSN and Comcast.net.
The two partners say they launched the site to offer a legal means for consumers to access their content online.
