Gary Ginsberg has been promoted to executive VP of global marketing and corporate affairs at News Corp. The new position elevates him to the office of the chairman and adds to the responsibilities he had as executive VP for investor relations and corporate communications.
Mr. Ginsberg will coordinate News Corp. marketing efforts worldwide and will continue to direct News Corp.’s corporate affairs, including investor and media relations, community outreach and philanthropic programs.
He will report to News Corp. Chairman-CEO Rupert Murdoch, as well as Peter Chernin, News Corp. president-chief operating officer, and Chief Financial Officer David DeVoe.
The office of the chairman also includes General Counsel Lon Jacobs, Deputy CFO John Nallen and Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News Channel, Fox Television Stations and Twentieth Television.
“Gary’s energy and integrity have helped to expand and improve the company’s communications with investors, the press and community groups in recent years,” Mr. Murdoch said in the announcement Tuesday. “His creative leadership and extensive knowledge of our operations worldwide perfectly position him to lead a renewed focus on marketing our brands and assets globally. I also look forward to Gary adding his voice to the strong opinions and sound judgments of our leadership team in the office of the chairman.”
