Online TV Viewing Doubles, Study Says

Nearly 16 percent of American homes with Internet service watch television shows online, double the number reported last year.
Consumers cited personal convenience and a desire to avoid advertisings as their top reasons for watching programs online, according to a study released today by advertising research firm TNS Media Intelligence and the Conference Board, a business group.
While broadcast television ratings continue to decline, 80 percent of online viewers say watching shows online has not affected their viewing of traditional television.
