Time Warner Cable Names Ellen East Corporate Communications Executive VP

Oct 5, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Ellen East, who has been with Cox Communications since 1993, is joining Time Warner Cable as executive VP of corporate communications.
Ms. East replaces Lynn Yaeger, who is retiring at year end from Time Warner Cable.
“We have spent the last few months conducting a thorough search of candidates, both inside and outside of our industry,” said Glenn Britt, CEO of Time Warner Cable. “We are fortunate to have been able to secure the talents of someone with a wide breadth of corporate affairs experience at another well-respected MSO. Ellen has led the corporate communications function for Cox both as a public and private entity; her knowledge in both arenas will serve us well.”

  1. I am not certain to whom this letter should be sent. All I can say, after almost a week of aggravation, is that my issue does not get cleared up within the day I am going to write to the local newspapers, the president, Vice President and COO of Time WArner. I think that the stock holders may take issue with my treatment, thus far, also. Last Wednesday I called Time Warner to have the cable connected to my friends TV in an assisted living home. He is 85 and depends greatly upon the TV to keep him in touch with the world. I was told that I would have to go to the local “store” and couldn’t do by phone…no explanation as to why. On Thursday I went to the West Hollywood store and was told that they couldn’t connect because the former tenant in that room had not paid his bill. The girl tried for one hour to get a clearance and couldn’t do it. I left her my phone number, his name, billing address and the address where the cable needed to be hooked up. Said she would give me a call. She did not give me a call. I called TimeWarner on Friday and they said that they didn’t have any such report and they would report it. Then in the afternoon a supervisor called and said that nothing could be done. On Saturday Melrose Gardens, where he is living, called, they got the same run around. On Saturday I received a phone call from someone trying to sell me cable. I told my story and her answer was, have you tried the dish network? On Saturday afternoon I received a post card telling me to call to sign up for service. On Monday I called and was again told that there were no records found of any previous phone calls. Perhaps someone would get back to me in 3-5 days. I need the cable on NOW….what do you suggest I do??????

  4. Great post!

  5. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
