Fox Station Group Sets ‘Chris’ for 2009-10

The Fox-owned station group is making moves to secure its programming lineup next season and beyond, and has now picked up the CBS Television Distribution series “Everybody Hates Chris” for the 2009-10 season.
“Everybody Hates Chris” has been cleared in a number of the Fox duopolies, including the all-important top markets New York and Los Angeles, as well as Dallas, as its first round of sales is completed, according to sources close to the deal.
The series is in its third season after launching as the third-highest-rated program in the history of UPN. The series is expected to be aired on Fox’s MyNetwork affiliates.
The series most recently earned a 0.8 score on the CW.
A CBS representative would not comment on any aspect of the deal.
Fox stations had already picked up syndicated runs of NBC Universal’s “The Office” for 2009 as well and are said to be in serious talks to bring “My Name Is Earl” into the fold as well, although Tribune is also in play for that series.
