FX Doubles Up on ‘Damages’

Nov 12, 2007  •  Post A Comment

FX has ordered two more seasons of its original series “Damages.”
KZK Productions, Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions will crank out 26 more episodes of the program starring Glenn Close beginning early next year.
“FX is proud of our status as a leader in fostering bold, high-quality scripted programming,” said FX Networks President John Landgraf. “We commend [creators] Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler, Daniel Zelman and their magnificent cast, headed by Glenn Close, with pulling off this hugely ambitious series and establishing ‘Damages’ as one of the best dramas on American television.”
The series drew critical praise but didn’t do as well as other FX originals in the ratings and skewed older. The first runs of its episodes averaged 2.5 million total viewers and 1.1 million adults 18 to 49.
In addition to Ms. Close, cast members Rose Byrne and Tate Donovan are signed on as regulars for season two.

  1. YAY!! I’m so thrilled to hear that Damages is returning for two more seasons!! Rose Byrne is an amazing, talented actress and I’m pleased we’ll be seeing more of her on a weekly basis. Congratulations to the cast and crew!

  2. Ditto, this was one of the most intriguing, intense and well acted shows I’ve seen in quite a while. The way season one ended really has me excited for next year…and now the year after that too.

  3. Too bad there won’t be anyone around to WRITE it.

  4. I’ll write it if they need someone 😉

  5. This is certainly the most professional, well-scripted, “film-quality” television show on the air today — and perhaps, of all time. Each time I watched, it was as if I had gone to the movie theater and discovered movies had stopped sucking! I want this series to have a long run — and perhaps produce a feature-length version.

  6. FX,
Thank you for signing Damages on for another year, both the writing and the cast are superb.
From Damages to the Shield to Nip/Tuck to Rescue Me to It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, your network now keeps my TiVo busier than any other.
Don’t expect any Christmas cards from the guys at HBO this holiday season, as I (and many of my friends for that matter) are cancelling our subscriptions. It’s hard to justify the cost for one good series on HBO when we get year round new episodes of multiple series on FX.

  7. i loved the series cannot wait for the next season to begin…..the actors were just great i miss tuesday nites since the conclusion. keep up the good work, and congratulations to glenn close she is marvelous.

  9. Can anyone tell me how to purchase a pair of Patty Hewes’ sunglasses?

  10. I am wondering about the sunglasses too….

  11. So, who can tell me WHEN the first episode of Season 2 will be aired on FX? I cannot find that info and certainly don’t want to miss any of it! Would be to difficult to “catch up” and understand if picked up later. HELP!

  12. Rose Byrne is great and the best on show

  13. Many people just blow this stuff off, and I feel that their money making ability is lacking because of it. There is a serious tendency to wait for the easy way that the bulk of them end up destroying their own chances at success. A little look at the real world helps everyone to keep our footing in a treacherous market.
