MTV Aims to Optimize Web Sites for comScore Measurement

MTV Networks plans to refine its Web sites so they can be measured more effectively by online audience measurement firm comScore, Ty Ahmad-Taylor, VP of product development at MTV Networks, said during a session at the NewTeeVee Conference in San Francisco today.
“There is a gap between what you get on Omniture and any other metrics and analysis tool,” he said. “We are looking at how to optimize our sites for comScore so our demographics are better represented. You need a certain number of eyeballs watching your content to make sure your business works.”
At the same session, Turner’s Kevin Cohen, senior VP for strategic planning, said his company has started working with YouTube to test software that helps keep copyright-infringing content off of the video-sharing site.
