NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has named Frances Manfredi its executive vice president and general sales manager of cable and non-theatrical sales.
Ms. Manfredi, who is based in New York City, will continue to oversee all cable, airline and non-theatrical sales for NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.
“Frances is a tremendous leader and continues to be one of the top sales executives in our industry,” said Barry Wallach, president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. “In an environment that is continuously changing, she has remained a true constant because of her innovative deal-making. Over her seven years with NBC Universal, she’s executed a long list of groundbreaking deals for this company.”
Ms. Manfredi had been senior VP of cable sales for the company since May 2005. During that span, she licensed numerous NBC prime-time series to cable networks, including recent deals for “The Office,” “Heroes” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” as well as selling a variety of major Universal movie packages.
“I am truly excited by the future prospects for domestic distribution,” Ms. Manfredi said. “New media platforms are emerging in almost all of our deals and dovetailing nicely with traditional distribution strategy. It will be fascinating to continue to explore this new frontier.”
