The Paley Center for Media, formerly the Museum of Television & Radio, on Tuesday night honored NBC Universal President and CEO Jeff Zucker ,along with Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Universal Sports and Olympics, at its annual gala.
The event, taking place under the cloud of the Writers Guild of America strike, recognized Mr. Zucker for his contributions to the industry and Mr. Ebersol for his achievements in sports TV and entertainment.
Sportscaster Al Michaels hosted the event, which featured a closing set by singer-songwriter John Mayer.
Many of the speakers who took the stage addressed the strike, including Mr. Mayer, who quipped about pitching scripts. Mr. Zucker noted the strike helps neither side, and Mr. Ebersol said he’d like to see the writers and producers back in one room to discuss the issues that divide them.
Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of the Paley Center, also called for a timely resolution to the strike.
