NBCU Cuts Jobs at Oxygen Media

NBC Universal began making deep job cuts Monday at Oxygen Media, which it acquired last month.
The cuts represent about 25% of Oxygen’s 260 person staff and came from across all departments.
NBCU said it spent the last few week putting together a plan to integrate Oxygen into NBC Cable.
“As with most integrations, we have consolidated functions and operations, resulting in job impact,” said JB Perette, the NBCU Cable exec who oversaw the integration, in a statement.
He said affected employees have been offered opportunities within NBCU where available, or will be paid through the end of the year and provided with enhanced severance packages and outplacement services.
