Study Says 2008 Local Online Ad Spending Will Increase 48%

Dec 7, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Local online ad spending will grow 48% in 2008 to $12.6 billion, driven in part by a healthy influx of local online video dollars, according to a new report from local media research firm Borrell Associates.
The categories of local search and online video ads will drive most of the growth next year. Local search advertising will more than double to $5 billion, and local online video ads will triple to $1.3 billion, the study says. Borrell reports most of that growth will be driven by long-form pieces for home, automotive and health care.
