CES Attendance of 130,000 Down a Bit From 2007

The Consumer Electronics Association reported that more than 130,000 industry professionals attended the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which concluded Jan. 10.
The final attendance figure will be verified in May, but the initial estimate is down from the 143,695 who attended the 2007 show.
This year’s event logged more than 1.85 million net square feet of exhibit space, the largest in show history. CES said the show drew more than 2,700 companies, who introduced more than 20,000 new products at the event.

  1. I found that the North Hall suffered low attendance and the general mood radiating from the exhibitors was low. I have been attending the CES as a 12volter since 1979 and never have I felt such dispare on the floor of the show by so many people from so many fields. The 12volt industry is in trouble and the causes are many. No one thing can restore it. I do believe that it will evolve into some thing smaller in order to survive; however, the blood bath to come will be exicuted at all levels from the retailers up the supply chain to the manufactures and the nature of it will not be kind. 2. 130,000? I don’t think so. There was almost no wait time or lines for buses, cabs, or anything else for that matter … compared to last year. If did not feel like only 10% fewer people were here … not at all. There were crowds, but nothing liek any previous CES I have attended. My guess is that the attendance is much lower than 130,000 people claimed or estimated.
