Michael Eisner’s new-media studio the Tornante Co. is launching a Web and mobile phone video project in conjunction with publishing house G.P. Putnam’s Sons’ newest Robin Cook novel, “Foreign Body.”
The Web series in support of the book will debut May 27, 10 weeks before the book’s release.
The series is being co-produced by Cyber Group Animation. It’s developed and directed by online entertainment company Big Fantastic, the creator of Eisner’s previous Web hit “Prom Queen.”
The new-media series is designed to be a prequel to the book. The project is one of the first instances of a book publisher getting involved in Web video.
A new episode will air every day, five days a week, for 10 weeks. The book, to be released Aug. 5, will pick up where the Web series leaves off.
