Pixsy will power video and photo search for Maxim.com, Blender.com and Stuffmagazine.com.
Pixsy is one of a handful of video search providers, including TRuveo, Blinkx and DigitalSmiths, jockeying for a leadership position. Video search is becoming a more critical element of the online video business as the number of videos on the Web continues to mushroom and consumers look for easy ways to sift through the options.
Online video will grow from $1.4 billion in ad spending in 2008 to $4.3 billion in 2011, according to eMarketer.
Pixsy has focused on building strategic partnerships with media properties to grow its business.
