Video Sites Still Feeling Holiday Effect

Traffic to video sites continued to lag in the first week of the year, as vacations still dominated most people’s calendars. YouTube drew 30.7 million unique visitors for the week ending Jan. 6, down slightly from 31 million for the week ending Dec. 30, according to weekly data from Nielsen Online.
Traffic to MSN Video also dipped, reaching 2.5 million for the week ending Jan. 6, compared with 2.9 million for the week before.
However, Yahoo Video rose, logging 2.2 million unique visitors for the week ending Jan. 6, up from 1.4 million the week before.
Look for traffic levels to return to normal now that the holidays are over.
