Bryson to Retire From Lifetime in May

Feb 4, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Louise Henry Bryson is retiring from Lifetime, where she was general manager of the Lifetime Movie Network and president, distribution and affiliate business development, Lifetime Networks. The move is effective at the end of May.
Ms. Bryson will assist Lifetime CEO Andrea Wong in handling the transition to a new executive running LMN, Lifetime said.
Since Ms. Wong became CEO at Lifetime last year, several senior executives have departed, including its head of movies, scheduling, research and ad sales.
Ms. Bryson, who began her television career as a documentary producer, had been with Lifetime for nine years. She and her husband, who also is retiring, plan to travel.
“As general manager, Louise oversaw the ascension of Lifetime Movie Network, increasing its distribution and masterminding its growth to a top-10 network, in fact, the second highest-rated women’s network,” Ms. Wong said in an internal memo.
“We all owe Louise a huge debt of gratitude for her tireless efforts and for her friendship,” she added. “And we will be watching for Louise in the stands at the Beijing Olympics, on her first post-Lifetime journey, with enormous admiration … and just a little bit of envy.”
