NBC Unveils Logo for Next Year’s Super Bowl

Feb 4, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Almost as soon as the Giants finished beating the Patriots on Fox, the NFL and NBC Sports were getting set to unveil the logo for Super Bowl XLIII, to be played in Tampa Bay, Fla., next year.
NBC will debut the new logo Monday night with an on-air promotional announcement during “American Gladiators.” It is believed to be the earliest a network has ever begun promoting the Super Bowl.
“This is just an initial indication of how excited we are to broadcast the Super Bowl,” said Dick Ebersol, chairman, NBC Universal Sports and Olympics. “The Super Bowl is a holiday celebrated like no other and we can’t wait to come to Tampa Bay to show the celebration to the rest of the world.”
Super Bowl XLIII will mark the first time NBC Sports has carried the Super Bowl, usually the year’s most watched broadcast, in 11 years.
