In her latest New Media Minute, Daisy Whitney looks at the success of Rhett and Link. The comedy duo, previously mentioned on TVWeek.com, has signed a deal with TV Guide to create three new music video parodies for TVGuide.com. The first video, expected to be released today, will be a wrap-up of Sunday night’s Academy Awards. The deal is part of TV Guide Network’s ongoing investment in broadband content.
Also making news is KickApps, a distribution company specializing in social networking, which says it is talking to content delivery networks to allow use of KickApps’ video player for free. The company makes money on the social media distributed through the player, not just from the player’s use.
