‘Stargate’ Season Five Production to Start

Sci Fi Channel said production will begin later this month on the fifth season of its original series “Stargate Atlantis.”
The show is produced by MGM Television and filmed in Vancouver. Throughout its run, the show has used Canadian writers outside the jurisdiction of the striking Writers Guild of America, according to Sci Fi.
The 20 new episodes will include the 100th in the series’ history. The show’s fourth season is currently airing Fridays at 10 p.m. on Sci Fi.
Robert Picardo will join the cast, taking command of the Atlantis expedition. Paul McGillion will return for five episodes as Dr. Carson Becket.

  2. Haviung Robert Picardo head up the cast wil increase ratings or the show. They will get all the ST: Voyager fans in addition to the Stargate fans. Good move!

  4. I’m glad Robert Picardo will join the show as the new commander of Atlantis, simply because he’ll probably get more screen time than Amanda Tapping has had as Sam. I don’t understand why she was even brought onto Atlantis as a regular since she is treated more like a special guest star 🙁
