Feb 1, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The NFL Network will be running a new spot during Super Bowl XLII Sunday on Fox, and TelevisionWeek is delivering the first look.
The reprises a theme from ads aired in the 2006 season showing how some fans’ predictions about the NFL didn’t quite pan out. It urges viewers “to get your story straight” by watching the NFL Network and being fully informed about favorite teams.
The NFL Network received the time as part of the league’s deal with its other broadcast partners. The network estimates there is about $50 million worth of commercial time on NFL games during the season. This year, Super Bowl spots sold for an average of about $2.7 million, with some going for as much as $3 million.

The spot will air for the first time during Fox’s Super Bowl broadcast, and will then be available online at NFL.com.
This is the fifth Super Bowl in which the NFL Network has run ads.
