Demand Media Acquires Pluck

Social media technology company Demand Media acquired Pluck Corp. Tuesday, the companies announced.
The acquisition is the latest in a string of purchases by Demand Media as it seeks to build up its portfolio.
Pluck provides social media tools and technologies to more than 200 media Web sites that reach more than 100 million users. Pluck’s customers include Gannett/USA Today, Guardian Unlimited, Hearst Corp., Fox and the Washington Post.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
