The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has turned to television producer Ken Ehrlich to executive produce the Emmy Awards for the fourth consecutive year. “The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” will be broadcast live on Sunday, Sept. 21, on ABC.
“Ken is a creative producer with a deep love of television, and we are glad and honored to have him back,” said John Shaffner, chairman-CEO of ATAS.
Mr. Ehrlich most recently executive produced “The 50th Annual Grammy Awards.” He also has produced specials and concerts including 28 Grammy Award telecasts, the “MTV Movie Awards” and the “Divas” series of music specials.
“We are thrilled to be able to produce this Emmy show, which will help celebrate the Television Academy’s 60th anniversary, and have a number of surprises in the works that will certainly make this a memorable Emmy broadcast,” said Mr. Ehrlich. “Doing the event from the new Nokia Theater at L.A. Live provides an opportunity to give the show a new and fresh look, and we are already hard at work with our designers to accomplish that and more.”
