Johnson Joins NFL Net as Director of Communications

The NFL Network only had to look down the street to find its new director of communications, tapping the Game Show Network’s Dennis Johnson for the post. Effective March 24, he will be responsible for developing and implementing communication and public relations strategies for the 4-year old cable network.
At the Game Show Network, NFL Network’s Culver City neighbor, Mr. Johnson had been executive director of publicity and corporate communications for the past three years.
He previously spent 11 years at Fox Sports, where he promoted national Fox Sports Net programming, including “Fox Sports News,” “The Last Word With Jim Rome” and “NFL This Morning,” from 1998 to 2000. He then was director of public relations for FSN West and FSN West 2 in Southern California from 2000 to 2005.
Mr. Johnson replaces Seth Palansky, who departed NFL Network last month to take a position as director of communication, sports and entertainment division for Harrah’s Entertainment in Las Vegas.
