NBCU Adds Mobile Partners

Mar 31, 2008  •  Post A Comment

NBC Universal has signed deals with wireless providers Verizon and AT&T and BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion to carry NBCU’s mobile Web sites on their phones. The deal builds on NBCU’s partnership with Alltel Wireless, signed in July.
“The combination of these partnerships with the leaders in the mobile industry and the promotion through NBCU’s own TV and Web platforms will raise the awareness and usage of NBCU’s mobile offering,” NBCU Digital Distribution President Jean-Birac Perrette said. “NBCU’s efforts are in full force in the emerging mobile advertising market, and these timely deals will create valuable inventory for our advertising partners.”
Customers will be able to access more than 60 mobile sites from NBC, USA Network, Bravo and others. In addition to adding NBC links and content to wireless providers’ and smart phones’ mobile Web sites and menus, other plans include SMS text voting, mobile fan clubs and alerts.
NBCU will continue to use JumpTap’s ad delivery network on its mobile properties
