Voom HD Networks has tapped Arqiva, a broadcast and communications technology company, to supply fiber connectivity and uplinking for its new high-def extreme sports channel Rush HD.
Under the deal, Arqiva will uplink Rush HD to its Eurobird satellite, making it available to European markets.
The channel was launched Monday in the U.K. on Sky’s pay satellite television service.
“In preparing the international launch of Rush HD, we selected Arqiva not only for this strong customer-service approach, but also for its working relationship with Sky and its commitment to the future of HD broadcasting,” said Glenn Oakley, Voom HD senior vice president of global operations and business development.
