‘LonelyGirl15’ Creators Get $5 Mil Backing for New Company

The creators of breakout Web video series “LonelyGirl15” and “KateModern” landed $5 million in venture funding to create a social entertainment company dubbed EQAL.
Spark Capital led the financing for the new company, which will produce interactive shows, EQAL said in an announcement.
EQAL also plans to build online communities around those interactive shows. “LonelyGirl15” creators Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried are behind the new company.
