Most cable programming is viewed live, but some genres are proving even more resistant to recording and delayed playback using digital video recorders. This information is important because when programming is watched live, there’s a much better chance the commercials airing during breaks will be seen and have a chance to do their job: convincing viewers to buy products. The following list of genres and how much they’re watched live was compiled by Hallmark Channel using data from Nielsen.
