Sony Looks to Have PS3 Online Video Service by Summer
Sony, whose PlayStation 3 helped the company’s Blu-ray win the next-generation DVD player format war, will launch an online video service for the game console as early as this summer, the Los Angeles Times reports, citing industry executives it didn’t identify. Sony is in licensing negotiations with studios that would provide movies and television shows for the service, the newspaper says, citing the executives.
‘ET,’ ‘Insider’ to Go HD This Fall
CBS’ “Entertainment Tonight” will debut in high definition when it starts its 28th season in September, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The network’s fellow entertainment magazine show “The Insider” also will start airing in HD with its new season. In order to make the switch, the shows’ production will move from Paramount Studios in Hollywood to CBS’ new Studio Center in Studio City, Broadcasting & Cable says.
Dish Adds HD Channels
Dish Network, the No. 2 U.S. satellite television service, said last week that it added high-definition channels for CNN, Sci Fi and USA. Dish now has about 80 national HD channels, or about 20 short of its year-end goal, Web site TVPredictions.com reports.
More Broadband Use May Change Web Pricing
U.S. consumers, whose use of broadband has exploded due to services such as high-definition video, may start being charged according to usage by Internet providers, instead of the speed-based pricing the providers now employ, USA Today reports. Within the past two years, AT&T and Verizon have spent about $70 billion boosting broadband capacity, and will try to increase the return on that investment by changing their Internet pricing models, the newspaper says.

  1. Salutations, I I found your website on msn and read most of your other pages. I just added you to my RSS feeder. Keep up the great job. Look forward to reading more from you in the future. You know, I must say, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted, I?ve spent most of my time here just lurking and reading, but today for some reason I just felt compelled to say this.

  2. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  3. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you create this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz reply back as I’m looking to create my own blog and would like to know wheere u got this from. thanks

  5. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  6. Way to focus and straight to your point, i love it. Keep up the work people. Dont let anyone stop us bloggers.
