Wong’s New Lifetime Image to Take Flight

Apr 13, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Lifetime, touting a new programming strategy that includes its acquisition of “Project Runway,” is going airborne with a campaign featuring an airliner.
The women’s cable network has taken an out-of service Caravelle jet and wrapped it in bold colors to show how the network provides an “escape” for its viewers. The plane will appear in promos and interstitial spots and will travel the country with personalities from Lifetime shows.
The campaign, shown to ad buyers in Los Angeles last week and to be unveiled to the press at Lifetime’s upfront press briefing today, is part of an effort to reshape the image of the cable network as it rolls out new flavors of content under CEO Andrea Wong.
Ms. Wong, who took over a year ago, is shifting Lifetime’s slate to scripted series and reality shows such as “Runway,” away from movies and packaged shows. To execute the changes, she has shuffled management, bringing on co-chief marketing officer Bob Bibb and Lew Goldstein, who devised the airplane promotion.
Another newcomer, Executive VP for Ad Sales Debbie Richman, will lead Lifetime’s upfront, about a month after she took the job. Since Ms. Wong arrived, she has also named new heads of research, scheduling and movie development as many longtime staffers have retired or departed.
Lifetime, the ninth-ranked ad-supported cable network in total viewers during the first quarter, saw its viewership rise 13% among young women 18 to 34, but was flat among women 18-49 and down slightly among women 25-54.
The network is being challenged for women’s attention from NBC Universal, which owns Oxygen, Bravo and Web site iVillage. Other media companies spoiling for the female audience include Cablevision’s WE tv, Comcast’s Style Channel and Discovery Communications, which will launch the Oprah Winfrey Network next year.
In the face of that new competition, Lifetime’s image needed to be refreshed, said Mr. Bibb and Mr. Goldstein, who worked at the WB and Fox, respectively, before joining Lifetime.
“A lot of people when they think of Lifetime they think of movies. They don’t necessarily think of big-name series and reality shows that Lifetime is now offering, and obviously in a big way,” Mr. Goldstein said. “So I think it’s our chance, our opportunity to let people know out there that Lifetime is more than a place for movies.”
Lifetime expects one of those series to be “Project Runway.” The network signed a five-year deal with the show’s producer, The Weinstein Co., to air the Peabody Award-winning series beginning with its sixth season in November.
NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, responded with a suit against The Weinstein Co., claiming it retained a right of first refusal on airing future seasons of the show.
Lifetime will reportedly pay more than $1 million an episode for “Project Runway,” up from the $600,000 Bravo was paying. Lifetime is also buying a package of movies from The Weinstein Co. as part of the agreement.
Great Escape
As that programming dispute shaped up, Lifetime was working on its image.
“We’ve been jamming trying to figure out how we can give a little bit of new energy to the brand and help people realize it’s more than a place for women-in-jeopardy movies,” Mr. Bibb said.
“Andrea kept using the term ‘escape’ to define Lifetime, and we thought, ‘What would be the embodiment of the word escape, in a literal sense,’” Mr. Goldstein said.
Network research found that many women in mid-America look up the price of plane ticket to see how much a vacation would cost, even when they don’t really plan to travel.
“This plan represents a fantasy escape,” Mr. Goldstein said. “Lifetime has been in your living room, but now we’re going to take it to you.”
One media buyer, who preferred not to be identified, said Lifetime has been trying to make the network younger and more buzzworthy. The idea of making Lifetime into an exciting destination made sense and fit with its acquisition of “Project Runway.” But the buyer noted that the campaign risks bringing up memories of old airline “Fly Me” campaigns featuring comely stewardesses, and comes at a time when many airline flights are being grounded.
New spots featuring the plane, named “The Flying Tigress,” will start to appear on the network in May. Lifetime is using the theme “Take off with us” in its upfront presentations, but the network won’t have an on-air slogan. (Staffers who use clichés like “take off” or “get on board” around the office have to put a quarter in a jar.)
The plane will evolve into a more integral part of the network’s on-air look later in the year, appearing as part of the set when stars and celebrities host prime-time nights on Lifetime or themed afternoons on Lifetime Movie Network.
“The first thing we noticed [about Lifetime] was there was no one speaking to the audience directly,” Mr. Goldstein said. “It was packaged shows and movies.” The plane can become a crossroads, or focal point, where the networks personalities can logically meet, he said.
At Van Nuys Airport in California, the plane will serve as a backdrop for network photo shoots. It will also show up in other markets to generate excitement for network content.
The plane’s market visits could provide sponsorship opportunities, Mr. Goldstein said.

  1. Its amazing to me that with the new line up and energy at Lifetime one of their best shows “Blood Ties” has still not been renewed.
It has a very loyal fan base between 18 to 54 who love the show and the actors. It is original, fresh, exciting and very romantic.
The fans have been working tirelessly over the past 3 months trying get Lifetime TV to make a decision and renew the show for another season.
Please, reality TV is ok in small doses but lets not lose the really interesting shows to them.

  2. I second Assuit…I’m waiting to hear about Blood Ties, it’s a great show that needs to be renewed!

  3. I agree with the execs at Lifetime that the notion of Escape is very compelling. That’s why I miss Lifetime’s show Blood Ties so much! When I finished a long, stress-filled work week, it was great to be able to indulge in an hour of pure escapist fantasy, and enjoy the drama, the humor, the suspense and the romance that Blood Ties provided in such abundance!
Speaking as a member of both of those much sought-after demographics of women aged 18-49 and aged 25-54, I would definitely prefer to watch Blood Ties to any reality show on Lifetime or any other channel. I really hope that Ms. Wong realizes that there is still room for one hour of fantasy one night a week, and decides to renew Blood Ties!

  4. Ugh! I am so sick of reality shows! What’s so revolutionary about revolving a network around them, they’re everywhere and, here’s some news for you, they’re not entertaining in the slightest! For a network centered around ’empowering women’, airing a show focused on pin-thin models who embody everything that is wrong with today’s perception of beauty does everything BUT. First lifetime gives us a show telling us how to ‘love ourselves’ for what we are (How to Look Good Naked) and then they negate that by shoving society’s idealistic version of women down our throats. I don’t know about you but I could definitely do without these kinds of programs.
I’ve watched Lifetime for years, I’m not afraid to admit it. I’ve been a loyal viewers of the original movies and even the reruns, but never have I been as engrossed with any show before “Blood Ties” aired. I love the show, and I would love to see it back on the air, and yet it’s possibly being pushed aside for the sake of reality television? Give me a break. If lifetime really gives us “what women want” give us our Blood Tied Back!

  5. Blood Ties*

  6. If Lifetime is really serious about expanding that 18-49 age bracket they will bring back BloodTies. The strong female lead found in Vicki Nelson will shake their victim of the week movie image and empower women. Not to mention attract loads of young female fans with the character of Henry Fitzroy. To revitalize, Lifetime doesn’t just need new bloo, it needs new BloodTies.

  7. I am in the 50s bracket for demographics and I really enjoy blood ties.. I think its one of the best shows on the channel.. Since it has been running on here I have also taken the time to check out other shows on your channel.. I am too old to care about project runway but I have become a fan of army wives,, which I never would have even thought about watching before. I do love a good story and fantasy if done well and I think Blood Ties is both.. Please renew this show.
Thank you, A very hopeful fan

  8. You might as well not even think about anymore reality shows. That is completely overated. That is all you see anymore, and frankly I have had about enough. Lifetime wants change. They had change when they had Blood Ties. What more could you want from a show. Action, romance, fire, escape, compelling characters, wonderful drama. As the saying went in the movie Jerry Maguire, ” This show had me at hello”. I am tired of reality shows. Stop with the new shows and bring back the ones we want and crave for and that is Blood Ties. Us fans have been fighting for this show since it started and we will continue to fight. This show is worth saving and I refuse to have this show replaced with some stupid reality show. If anyone can hear us out there, give this show and its characters the justice that it deserves. RENEW BLOOD TIES.

  9. FORGET REALITY SHOWS.
    RENEW BLOOD TIES

  10. Dear Lifetime: there’s no “greater escape” than BLOOD TIES BACK ON MY TV SCREEN. RENEW IT ALREADY. PLEASE!

  11. Agreed!! Renew Blood Ties.
There is more than enough Reality TV. Personally I do not watch a lick of it. We need Blood Ties and more quality interesting TV content; not MORE reality shows.

  12. LIFETIME: How long and loud do we have to tell you? WE WANT TO ESCAPE INTO BLOOD TIES. Stop wasting your money on shows that aren’t even established yet and give us BLOOD TIES BACK NOW!!!

  13. I’ve never been a fan of ‘reality’ tv. I’m in the over 50 demographic and do all the shopping for my family, that ranges in age from 23 to 85. I’m definately someone the advertisers sould aim for. However, I’m being basically ignored. I love Blood Ties. It is the one show out there that has ‘ever’ gotten me to join a message board, start a web page, mail in postcards etc. This should tell Lifetime something. You have a unique and wonderful show that appeals to a VERY LARGE fan base and you are ignoring us.If you really want to change your image start by LISTENING to the people who are watching now. Bring back Blood Ties.

  14. I’ve never tried so diligently to save a show in my life, but I’m a 43 year old woman, with five kids, a husband and now a fantastic “Blood” family because of this effort. It AMAZES me that Lifetime is willing to put all these ridiculous reality shows out while great shows like “Blood Ties” seem to be ignored. This is just absurd to me!! WE don’t want to see anyone naked, we don’t care about runways, what we do care about is Christina and her men coming back on..the advertisers during that time slot would greatly benefit from our demographis. Ms. Wong, it would serve you well to check out Hey Nielsen and savemyshow somtime, you would be surprised. There has even been a campaign that will not only help those in need of eyeglasses, but bring attention to our cause. Please, please, we need something here!! Christina is already signed on for five eps of Stargate Atlantis, please don’t let Vicki go….you will be making a grave mistake by not renewing Blood Ties..really..you will lose many, many viewers who will not return.

  15. I agree with all the rest of the Blood Ties fans. I want to add however, I am happy to see that Lifetime wants to provide the viewers with vacation time/ escape from REALITY tv with good programming. I also hope Andrea Wong *IS* listening to the fans of Lifetimes series BLOOD TIES. Its not hard to find us! We have been doing everything and anything to get some KIND OF REACTION from LT/ and Ms. Wong. Want to improve LT image? Help us, help those in need of new glasses/sunglasses/reading glasses. Put the BLOOD TIES fans/ LIONS CROSS eyeglass collection PRESS RELEASE on your website. Its been sent to you along with many postcards/ emails and phone calls. As stated by ccrulz, check out those web sites! On Hey!Neilson Blood Ties is one of the tops shows, out of ALL the TV shows on air now. Please show us some respect and give us the answer we long for. More Blood Ties.
Oh and I like the “plane idea” Stop by my house anytime with the CAST of BLOOD TIES!

  16. PLEASE RENEW BLOOD TIES.

  17. I think Lew Goldstein needs to go back to Ms.Wong and let her know, based on the comments this article has received, she has clearly missed the boat. Lifetime claims to have a new strategy to “provide an “escape” for its viewers”, yet it’s viewers have written repeatedly about the series Blood Ties and the “escape” it provides, but Lifetime has not renewed this series. Mr. Goldstein states “The first thing we noticed [about Lifetime] was there was no one speaking to the audience directly”…well there still isn’t anyone responding directly to the audience. Blood Ties fans launched a huge campaign to convince Lifetime to renew the series, but Lifetime has not even responded to the fans. For once, Lifetime actually had an original series that appealed to women, featured a strong female lead and was empowering to women and what does Lifetime do ? They give the series minimal promotion, a lousy time slot and treated the female audience,a demographic they proclaim to be seeking, with outright disrespect. If Lifetime was serious about a change for the better in it’s programming, it would listen to what it’s viewers were requesting. While it would be a pleasant surprise if Lifetime really did want to entertain women and provide that “fantasy escape”, unfortunately it seems more likely this marketing strategy is just that..marketing.

  18. ANY network can do a reality show and some do them better than others. Lifetime should take a stand and stand out. Quality programming (nor the fluff of a reality show) like Blood Ties & Army Wives are what Lifetime should be PROUD to show. A tv series with the power to bring viewers back week after week is an amazing thing. That is what Lifetime should be focusing on – not the fly by night crowd who only wants to know who is sleep with who or who is fighting, backstabbing, cheating on someone which is what the reality shows tend to be about – just about everyone of them has those elements with few exceptions.

  19. Lifetime if you want to refresh you image as a network that cares about your viewers, then answer their requests for the programming that they want to see on your network. You fans in the demographic categories that you mentioned are begging for you to renew Blood Ties. None of us want to see more reality TV series, we want quality TV series that are worthy of our attention. Blood Ties is exactly the type of show that meets our needs with a strong female lead that is a great role model for women, as well as, a stellar cast and great story lines. If you want to retain my viewership, then give me what I want which is more Blood Ties.

  20. If you want for me to watch your channel than provide me programming that is worth watching. All of us have requested that you renew Blood Ties, please do us all a favor and answer our request. Give us back the quality show that we have all grown to love. We want Blood Ties.

  21. Sadly, I think Ms. Wong should change her name to Ms. Wrong. A cliche, you say? An obvious play on words? Yes, it was, but we’ve been fighting for Blood Ties renewal for quite some time now, and I’m tired. The bon mots don’t come quite as easily as they once did.
Rather than spending her budget on a cheesey promotion, buying a used plane, airing WIP movies, and commissioning scripts for pilots, I would think she’d listen to the very viewers that have been inundating her for months with requests for the renewal of Blood Ties.
They want to jazz up their image, The Unnamed ‘Media Buyer’ says. Stop throwing away the gold you have for the gold plated.
Ms. Wong has named new heads of research, scheduling and movie development? Were there brains attached to those heads?
Research has shown that WE WANT MORE BLOOD TIES.
They scheduled this show’s “second season” at 11 pm on a Friday night, a night called the dead zone for a reason. They didn’t even bother to show the last two episodes on the network, making them available only on their website. This was a blatant disrespect to viewers who are hearing impaired (or are they not a big enough demographic for them?) or people whose escape is watching this show, but don’t always have the means to buy the high speed equipment necessary to download. I was lucky, I had the equipment and got to see them.
They didn’t advertise, they didn’t show previews.
That is not promotion, that is sabotage. Then said ‘oh, numbers are down.’ Well, I’m considered fairly intelligent as are the other people who watch this show, and the message could not possibly have been clearer.
Then, adding insult to injury, they began to air the show on their sister network, Lifetime for Real Women, carried by almost no one. Yes, that would certainly bring in tons of new viewers.
In spite of all their tactics, there is not a day that goes by that fails to bring new fans to BLOOD TIES.
We are working women, looking for an escape all right. Unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to be escaping from Lifetime.
Mr. Goldstein says they noticed they had no one speaking directly to their audience with their programming? Perhaps if they’d answered email, phone calls and postcards with something other than canned responses, they’d know what we’re thinking. If they keep up the attitude they’ve taken, it won’t matter, because there won’t be any viewers to address.
Way to pay attention SEVEN MONTHS AFTER THE FACT THAT WE’VE BEEN TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION.
While now, it is my sincere hope that another network will pick up this innovative show, I would still watch it if it were on Lifetime. Until the day a little show called BLOOD TIES premiered, before, I’d never watched that network after finding it, because I found most of their programming stale, and a little offensive.
Of late, it has been cheesey reality shows like ‘Psychic Challenge’ and ‘Your Mama Don’t Dance’ along with old sitcoms and the typical WIP movies. They say they want to change to scripted programs? They’ve got a head start with BT.
In a time when programming is cut throat and keeping the viewers you already have is essential, that network is throwing away what could not only be a massive fan base, but a lucrative income source. There is not a one of us who wouldn’t buy related BT merchandise.
Thank you, TVGuide, for the article, it certainly clarifies how out of touch they truly are with their core audience. I say again, they’re looking for scripted shows? They got a great one staring them in the face. If only they’d open their eyes and see.
My sincere wishes of good luck to Ms. Wong, clearly she’ll need it.

  22. Mr.Goldstein noticed that lifetime dose not talk to their audience THAT IS VERY TRUE! That would be another very big improvement where lifetime is concerned. We the fans would love to no about our favorite show Bloodties, hopefully the executives
will read these comments and give us something!

  23. Reading these comments makes me laugh, even if it’s a sad laugh. Ms. Wong should have just come out and said, “We hear a building roar of viewers working tirelessly to save a fantastic show….but how about a new plane instead?”
Ms. Wong, you represent the network for Women. Do you really believe that women can be lured in with another reality show and something shiny to dangle in front of them? A plane, really?
If you really want to represent women, why not show us some drama about a strong woman who stands toe to toe with men and bad guys and wins. Oh wait, that’s Blood Ties.
If you really want romance, why not show us a love triangle that has us in love with BOTH men, rooting for one but feeling the other, and all of us *getting* why the woman would be torn, then add tear jerking moments and sizzling chemistry. Oh wait, that’s Blood Ties.
If you really want to provide women escape, why not give them a fantasy show that lures them in, hooks them, commits them, yet still takes them to another world of vampires, good vs. evil, and to top it all off, top notch acting and writing? Oh wait, that’s Blood Ties.
    Ms. Wong, are you listening?

  24. Well said Renee!

  25. Clearly one show has made a deep, enduring impression among Lifetime viewers. Blood Ties is a rich tapestry of romance, intrigue, action, humor and beauty that engages and teases the imagination of viewers. Escape successful! Where’s season three?

  26. I find it incredible that Blood Ties,Lifetime’s finest show, hasn’t been renewed already

  27. WOW, now I couldn’t have said it better than all the others. I sincerely hope you execs at Lifetime realize what huge amount of viewers you would be losing, should you choose not to renew Blood Ties. You wanted change right? Well Blood Ties is a change. You normally show movies about a woman who can’t stand up for herself and is always the weak one. Well, then here comes Vicki Nelson, kick ass private detective. Don’t you think women want to see a strong character rather than one who has to depend on other people. I know I do as well as many of the other fans. All I can say really is, please think about this one and take notice of the numerous efforts the Blood Ties fans have put in thus far. You have your meal ticket in the palm of your hand. The only problem is your fist is closed so tight, you can’t see it. I myself am a video maker and have recently made a video as a message to all the “Powers That Be”. To let you all know that the Blood Ties fans, will not give up in our fight to save the show. I hope you take a look at it. Just know that should you choose not to renew, it will only be your loss. One way or another we will have our show back.

  28. RENEW BLOOD TIES!!! I am also within the 18-49 demographic and I LOVE IT! I am not a fan of reality TV and it is everywhere. Please renew Blood Ties.

  29. I have to say that I’ve not only lost faith in Lifetime but I’m actually disgusted by their behavior towards the Blood Ties cast and the fans.
It’s extremely insulting to the fans to dangle a carrot in eveyone’s face by offering up a Blood Ties game, keeping the episodes up online, re-airing them and making it appear as if they’re still interested. “Download the game!” they keep saying. Sure. That just puts money in their pocket and takes advantage of the fans – money that they’re spending on everything other than Blood Ties. They spent next to nothing on promotion for the show but yet it’s got a HUGE following. In reality, fans did all the promo work!
Let’s face it…Blood Ties is really too good for Lifetime, when you really think about it, but most of us would rather be able to view it there then not have it at all, so it’s really just desperation on our part and they know it…hence the dangling carrot. Fans have voiced their love for Blood Ties to Lifetime in various ways (postcards, emails, etc.) so it’s not as if it’s a secret to them. They know we want it and want it bad, but yet they continue to string fans along.
I have only one thing to say to them…DECIDE ALREADY!!! Either walk away or pick up the series. End the BS once and for all!

  30. Can’t agree more with every single posting here. This was one of the best shows on t.v. I cannot stand reality t.v., this show was a wonderful escape after a long week. Even at the lousy 11pm time slot, I made certain I watched the episode every week, even though we were only given a 10 episode ‘2nd season’. Please renew Blood Ties.

  31. The first “char” to post actually said it all. But, I must put in my ” 2 cents worth”. I am a professional, earning quite a nice salary that allows me to buy the goods advertized in commercials. ” Project runway” and the concept of a plane as a “come-on” for Lifetime nbetwork, insults my intelligence.
I LOVED the series ” Blood Ties”, and I am firmly convinced that Lifetime was not fair with the series or the fans. I was lucky enough to be a Neilson reviewer in the fall and guess what my Number one series was ? BLOOD TIES. Hopefully, I will be allowed the privilage again, so I can list ” Project Runway” at the bottom of the list.
What are you people thinking ?? Obviously, you are not thinking of the fans in the demographic age to actually support the advitizers of a particular show, as I did with Blood Ties” I guarantee that none of the commercials associated with Project Runway will appear on any of my family’s TV’s. I’ll leave that to the 13-18 year old demographic age group…I am sure they have a dime or two to spend on advertizers products.

  32. Ms. Wong should be hanging out on the unemployment line, in my honest opinion. She obviously cannot see a quality series staring her in the face. But then again it is probably hard to see since her head is “deep dark” (pun intended) up in her backside.
How many times have we all written in and received the same old response each time, and even to go as far as to plug the ridiculously lame “Army Wives” at the same time! Or to say “You’ll hear from us soon” when speaking about the fate of the show. Where are those hip boots when you need ’em. MONTHS have gone by and not one damn word has been uttered about the fate of the show. That’s HORRIBLE communication and Ms. Wong and everyone else at Lifetime should be ashamed of themselves because that’s a great way to alienate and piss off your audience.
I have to laugh because their comments don’t match their actions. Lifetime is known for the cheeseball, badly written lonely housewife dramas and they keep saying how they want to change their image – but yet they have a VERY strong female character in Vicki Nelson on a VERY popular series which could help them go in that direction and what do they do…they don’t renew it. Instead, they continue to offer the same old menu of movies and shows that are insulting towards women. If we all lived in Lifetime’s world, husbands would beat us or kill us, people would steal our babies, or our babysitters would be psychotic and want to kill us so they can have our husbands all to themselves. What does that say about “television for women?” Not much if you ask me.
Wake up Lifetime! It’s start to REALLY turn things around by bringing Blood Ties back.

  33. I am not at all interested in reality shows or the multiple reruns of ‘Reba’. What I am interested in is BLOOD TIES! I am in my late 40’s and I have never gotten so involved in a show as I have with BLOOD TIES. Because of this show, I visited the Lifetme website every day to join the thousands of fans in posting comments about the show. I bought the poster, for which I paid more in postage than I did for the poster, but I didn’t care. I also bought the game and will buy the DVD as soon as it goes on sale. I have also purchased all the Blood books the show is based on. I have joined countless blogs and websites related to BLOOD TIES. It’s been years since I’ve purchased stamps, but I made the trip to the post office to purchase postcards to send in to Lifetime. Anybody who knows me knows that I have gone way beyond my routine and comfort zone to show my support for BLOOD TIES.
Please listen to the fans and renew the show!!

  34. looks like fans of blood ties infiltrated this site. obviously their comments are not reflective of lifetime’s audience, just a group of overzealous fans of the show. so blatant.

  35. I love Project Runway, and I adore Blood Ties. I’m excited to be a part of Lifetime’s audience, and would be very happy if my two favorite shows were both on Lifetime 🙂

  36. Maybe if the growing number of fans could get a response from Lifetime they wouldn’t find it necessary to visit other sites to be heard. I love Blood Ties and feel that Lifetime and Ms Wong are treating us shamefully. If they plan on renewing or cancelling this wonderful show please show us the courtesy of telling us something. We have been in limbo long enough. They say one thing and then act differently. Don’t say you want to change your image and then put the one show that you have that can do that in limbo.

  37. That is so funny Paul! Tell me where IS lifetimes audience? There is not one positive comment for the actual article. WHY? Gee I don’t know.. maybe because there is not many around that agree with it? WELL WE ARE HERE…WE LOVED that Lifetime took a chance on this great show. We supported Lifetime with our continued patronage of their TV channel week after week. We support the message board, and website Lifetime has provided for this show.Blood Ties is in limbo yet, WE ARE HERE.. waiting once again for LIFETIME to make a choice. KEEP US FANS or LOSE US LIfetime. RENEW Blood Ties. And quite frankly WHEREEVER we find an article to voice our opinion.. you can bet we Blood Ties Fans will be on it!

  38. I agree with raven3. Lifetime thank you for giving us Blood Ties. We want a new season. Blood Ties is by far the best show you’ve ever had. The fans have been waiting for 5 mths. and it’s not fair to us to keep us waiting so long to find out the fate of a show that is phenomenal. Blood Ties was even nominated for an Indie Award. The fans aren’t going anywhere. We’re still here fighting for a new season of Blood Ties. I Love Blood Ties.

  39. Once again, there is a new person in the mix. This Ms. Wong? Well I can tell you she is so wrong for her job. Any wonder why she left wb? Could it be that she did such a bad job there that everyone got tired of her and pushed her out? Choosing the worst shows, taking the best ones that seem to bring in all the viewers off the air? Come on what is the logic in that? Someone wake up and teach this person what it means to have loyal viewers, and a large amount of them at that. Just incase you have forgotten, there are over 13 countries waiting to hear from you about Blood Ties, Now is the right time to say whether you will or will not be purchasing more episodes. Ignoring this as with all the other questions, comments however they are voiced, either in anger or in a plea, is no way endearing you to us. Nor is it good business. Sure you have all these reality shows, but very few people watch them in truth, they are just background noise. What people want is a break from all the hustle and bustle, the fighting bickering,of REAL LIFE. BLOOD TIES is this break. But then it shows how strong a woman can be!! Not how weak they are. This must be why Ms. Wong choose to have it removed. Too many variables as to why she would do this, so will not speculate further, as we all have this figured out for ourselves. whether you agree or disagree with this post, IT is my opinion and just My opinion.

  40. The other night Lifetime aired a movie called “Black and Blue” which was, of course, about a woman who is abused by her husband. COME ON!!!! I’d much rather see Blood Ties go to a network worthy of it’s quality because Lifetime sucks…hard.

  41. REALITY SHOWS………YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME THEY ARE EVERYWHERE AND PROJECT RUNWAY?? GIVE IT UP LIFETIME….. YOUR FAN BASE IS SAFE…IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT! LAST THING I WANT TO SEE IS ANOTHER REALITY SHOW

  42. I agree with Wishing. Blood Ties needs to come back. The only reason Ms. Wong took it off was because Vicki was a strong female lead with guy sidekicks. If she had been abused, raped, an alcoholic, or on drugs Ms. Wong would have kept the show.
When I turn on the TV I want to escape reality. Not watch Reality shows. BRING BACK BLOOD TIES!!!

  43. I agree “reality” T.V is just a cheap way for networks to fill time and they are OUT. Now about that plane the sud aviation 210 caravelle was produced in 1962 by france and is a pretty cool looking jet even by todays standards i wonder if that one is still airworthy and if so does it meet todays noise standards how bout it jet nerds JIM

  44. Fantastic post! Are there any opinions that you maybe willing to voice in order to assist us in understanding the last section a small bit more? cheers

  45. Wonderful to read!

  46. Thank you for a great post

  47. I just signed up to your RSS feed after reading this post! Will you write more regarding the subject in future articles?

  48. In related news, Tiger changed his name to Cheetah.

  49. Good post, thanks
