AFTRA National President Roberta Reardon sent a letter to members today detailing the terms of the agreement that AFTRA’s Primetime Negotiating Committee made with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers.
Highlights of the three-year agreement include increases for base pay rates each year, employer contributions to the AFTRA Health & Retirement Plan, “major role” minimums and overtime pay for three-day players.
New residuals structures have been set for paid Internet downloads and ad-supported streaming, a major sticking point in the negotiations.
AFTRA also will have confirmed jurisdiction over programs produced directly for the Internet and new media, while performers will preserve consent for non-promotional use of excerpts in new media.
The agreement also provides for improved terms and conditions for performers on CW programming and a raise in the number of covered background actors in Los Angeles.
