The CW will begin rolling out its new fall lineup on Monday, Sept. 1.
The network confirmed its autumn plans Tuesday afternoon at a combination party/upfront presentation outside Lincoln Center in New York.
CW Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff said in a statement that the lineup would help the network in its goal of becoming “the destination for young women.”
“We are zeroed in on our target demo of young women 18-34 with both new and returning series, and each programming block provides a strong promotional platform for the following night,” Ms. Ostroff said.
The CW schedule kicks off with the returns of “Gossip Girl” and “One Tree Hill” on Monday night, Sept. 1.
Tuesday nights at 8 p.m., the network will air “90210,” the 2008 incarnation of Fox’s “Beverly Hills, 90210.” It will be paired with the equally sudsy “Surviving the Filthy Rich” at 9 p.m.
As reported earlier, Wednesdays will feature a combination of “America’s Next Top Model” and new reality show “Stylista,” while Thursdays return intact with “Smallville” and “Supernatural.”
Comedies “Aliens in America” and “The Game” shift to Fridays at 8 p.m., followed by a “Top Model” repeat. The lineup replaces “WWE Smackdown!,” which leaves the network this summer.
Media Rights Capital, an independent production studio, will program The CW’s Sunday lineup. Among the shows it plans to air are “F.A.T. City,” a scripted procedural crime drama set in Las Vegas; “Valentine’s Day,” a “Cupid”-like romantic drama; and comedies “Murphy’s Law” and “Surviving Suburbia.”
