Finding ‘Lost’ Finale

Like an island in an ocean of reruns, “Lost” remained one of the few original scripted shows airing on broadcast during the writers strike earlier this year. Its strike-shortened season ends tonight with a two-hour finale.
Ending up ninth overall in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic this season, “Lost” averaged 13 million viewers a week compared with last year’s 14.8 million viewers, a decline of 12%. However, those numbers factor in 2007’s season finale.
Even with the setbacks of a writers strike and dwindling viewership of broadcast television, “Lost” captured a win in its time period during its 12 original showings this season.
