The Hallmark Channel will join the Hotel Networks’ roster of channels beginning June 1. Through their deal, THN will broadcast Hallmark as part of its programming offerings to more than 360,000 rooms in upscale hotels and accommodations across the country.
“We are very happy to announce this agreement with the Hotel Networks, which will provide constant sampling, promotion and exposure to new audiences that we want to reach with our quality, family-friendly programming,” said Henry Schleiff, president-CEO, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel.
Among the hotels served by THN are Boston’s Copley Plaza, New York’s Peninsula and Miami’s Doral, in addition to chain hotels such as Hilton, Omni and Sheraton.
The agreement will allow Hallmark to reach a potential 8 million viewers per month. THN’s audience is estimated at about 45% female, with 70% of all viewers between the ages of 25 and 54.
“We have to be selective when considering programming partners because the space is so limited on the network, but we believe Hallmark will appeal to a growing subset of our hotel guests,” THN President Derek White said.
The programming Hotel Network delivers is ad-supported and Nielsen-rated, bringing 10 premium cable channels, including A&E and the History Channel, via satellite to upscale accommodations across the U.S.

  1. We were extremely disappointed to learn this morning that the “Mass from Notre Dame” will be discontinued from your programming schedule June 29, 2008. So many people look forward to this outstanding presentation from the campus of Notre Dame each week; as your station kept moving it from 10 AM to 9 to 7 to 6 AM, viewers were unable to locate it. NOW we find it will be discontinued completely!! We have always had a great respect for the Hallmark Channel but now see that you are willing to adapt your programming to the discriminatory practice of the other public stations. SADLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!
