Time Warner Cable begins rolling out the Africa Channel in Los Angeles on July 29 as part of a national distribution agreement signed last fall that eventually will bring the network to some 14 million households throughout the U.S.
“Time Warner Cable is looking forward to adding the Africa Channel to our rich lineup of quality programming,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, president of the Time Warner Cable metro division. “We know [Time Warner] customers across Los Angeles will benefit from the Africa Channel’s unique educational, cultural and entertaining shows.”
“Time Warner Cable has been a great supporter of our network and we are looking forward to continued launches throughout other Southern California divisions, as well as its other systems across the country,” said Eric Brown, executive VP of affiliate sales of the Africa Channel.
The Africa Channel has 1,800 hours of programming spanning genres including news, entertainment, lifestyle, music, scripted series and special events.
Los Angeles-area Time Warner customers will be able to view the network on channel 176.

  1. I saw THE AFRICA CHANNEL on BSKYB in England and it is sensational. No one should miss viewing it. The vision is
presented in an extraordinary way – stretches the mind
and imagination. A friend of mine, with the BBC for 23 years,
Head of Special Features – Documentaries, said it was the
most outstanding use of the media she has seen ever seen.
Your public is in for a big surprise.
Congratulations for launching this magnificent concept.

  3. It is cruel, you know, that music should be so stunning. It has the beauty of loneliness of tenderness: of potency and independence. The splendor of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature and perpetual beauty of uniformity.
