Dish Network will offer ESPN’s coverage of the U.S. Open through its Interactive TV (iTV) mosaic, which is available to more than 12 million iTV-enabled homes.
The multiple-screen showcase presents six different programs from ESPN’s U.S. Open golf coverage, including ESPN’s network feed, a Featured Group feed showing Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in the first session and others based on standings, an Up Close channel featuring live coverage of practices and press conferences and a Third Hole feed with live coverage of Torrey Pines’ signature Par 3 hole. The last two programs, a Highlights channel and the Best of the Open channel, will offer highlights from the current championship and previous U.S. Open and PGA events at Torrey Pines, respectively.
Viewers will have the ability to view all six programs at once, or select one to watch in full-screen.
“Dish Network’s iTV mosaic is the perfect platform to showcase all of ESPN’s U.S. Open golf coverage, giving customers a unique viewing experience that allows them to quickly preview the network’s multiple programs and highlights, and then watch on a full screen whichever interests them the most,” Eric Sahl, senior vice president of programming for Dish Network, said in a statement.

  1. Who is calling the camera shots on putts? This is the worst coverage I’ve ever seen for a TV golf tournament. Show the hole on the putts. Not being able to see the hole is ridiculous.
