William Hurt will join the cast of FX’s “Damages” for season two, reuniting him onscreen with series star Glenn Close for the first time since both appeared in “The Big Chill” 25 years ago. It’s Mr. Hurt’s first stint in a regular TV series.
“We believe ‘Damages’ has one of the finest ensemble casts anywhere on television and the fact that an actor the caliber of William Hurt has joined the cast speaks to the quality of the series,” FX Networks Executive VP of Original Programming Nick Grad said.
Mr. Hurt’s character will have a story arc throughout season two. He will play a new client to Ms. Close’s character Patty Hewes, with whom he shares both a professional and personal past.
Season two of “Damages” begins production June 24 in New York. The series also stars Rose Byrne and Tate Donovan, who will join Ms. Close and Mr. Hurt for the new season.
