Hyundai, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Nationwide Insurance are sponsoring WeatherREADY Hurricane Preparedness Week on the Weather Channel beginning today.
As a part of Preparedness Week, the network will feature storm tracker Jim Cantore live in high-definition from communities in Florida and Alabama on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, which have homes equipped to withstand hurricanes.
Taped segments set to air Wednesday through Friday will provide tips, information and demonstrations on how to prepare for hurricane season. The weeklong program also will go over the do’s and don’ts of evacuation and what to do after a storm.
The series will air during the network’s standard-definition/high-definition simulcast of “Evening Edition.”

  8. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
