Sergio Ibarra is joining TelevisionWeek as editorial assistant after a successful stint as an intern at the publication.
Mr. Ibarra is a Los Angeles native who, after getting his bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from Harvard, returned to the West Coast to explore a career in entertainment and journalism.
“Sergio’s snappy writing and affinity for the subject matter made him a natural for TVWeek,” editor Greg Baumann said. “His publishing experience and facility with the Web are going to make him a real asset.”
Mr. Ibarra served as editor of “Let’s Go USA” in 2007 after spending three years at Let’s Go Publications.
“Pop culture and the entertainment industry have always been interests of mine, and I feel lucky to be at a publication that has its thumb on the business’s pulse,” Mr. Ibarra said.
In his new role, Mr. Ibarra will continue to contribute articles to TVWeek.com and TelevisionWeek.
He also will spearhead efforts to propagate TelevisionWeek content on the Web and work on the TVBizWire news-aggregation product.
