HD programming picks for June 19-25: “The Sting,” “Standing in the Shadows of Motown,” “Risk Takers: Polar Bear Alert Specialists”
“The Sting” (HDNet Movies). Thurs., June 19, 2:30 p.m. ET. Con-man caper starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford won a best picture Oscar in 1974 as well as a best director award for George Roy Hill.
“Standing in the Shadows of Motown” (Showtime). Sun., June 22, 8:30 a.m. Ben Harper, Bootsy Collins and others pay tribute to The Funk Brothers, Motown’s unsung house band.
“Risk Takers: Polar Bear Alert Specialists” (HD Theater). Mon., June 23, 8 p.m. Watch how a special alert team protects the Canadian town of Churchill, Manitoba, from migrating polar bears while still staying warm.


  1. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
