HD programming picks for June 12-18: “Swingtown,” “High Fidelity,” “Weeds”
“Swingtown” (CBS). Thurs., June 12, 10 p.m. New series about Chicago-area swingin’ couples of the ’70s is already getting attention from parental watchdog groups. Extra credit for naming the episode (“Love Will Find a Way”) after a Pablo Cruise song.
“High Fidelity” (Starz). Sat., June 14, 8 p.m. Jack Black hijacks romantic comedy about neurotic record-store owner played by John Cusack. Adapted from a Nick Hornby novel.
“Weeds” (Showtime). Sunday, June 15, 9-11:30 p.m. Quell your munchies with five consecutive episodes of the dark comedy starring Mary-Louise Parker.
