Veteran Shows Engaged Viewers in ‘07-08

Most observers would call 2007-08 a very unusual broadcast TV season. Considering all the challenges, we wanted to see which series managed to have the strongest hold on viewers’ attention throughout the course of the season.
The Nielsen IAG Program Engagement score is highly relevant because of the strong link between a show’s engagement level and viewers’ ability to recall ads aired within the program.
The table below shows the two most engaging series on each of the five broadcast networks this season. Data are based on original episodes only, and only series scheduled to return next season are listed. Only one freshman show made the list, The CW’s “Reaper.”
