Comcast Entertainment Group has signed a new multiyear agreement with Ryan Seacrest. The deal expands Seacrest’s television and new-media production business across Comcast’s networks through his independent production company, Ryan Seacrest Productions.
The production company will develop programming for Comcast networks E!, Style Network and G4, in addition to Versus, Golf Channel, Exercise TV, FearNet, Comcast Sportsnet and PBS Kids Sprout.
Comcast will retain first-look rights to all of Ryan Seacrest Productions projects through August 2011 as part of the deal.
Seacrest will continue to serve as managing editor and anchor of “E! News,” in addition to executive producing and hosting E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet” specials through early 2012.
“Ryan is not only a spectacular broadcaster and producer, but he is also the ideal ambassador for the E! brand. It is a personal and professional thrill to be the beneficiary of Ryan’s incredible work ethic, flawless on-air skills and fantastic instincts as a producer,” Ted Harbert, president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, said in a statement.
Ryan Seacrest Productions currently produces “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated” for Comcast networks.
In a related move, William Morris agent Adam Sher has left the agency to become CEO of Seacrest’s production company.
