Discovery Communications increased revenue 10% to $863 milion during the second quarter, according to earnings figures released Monday by Discovery Holding Co.
Excluding Travel Channel, which was sold to Cox Communications last year, revenue was up 13%. Adjusted income excluding the Travel Channel rose 22% to $315 million in the quarter.
Domestic ad sales increased 9% as higher sellout and pricing were partially offset by lower ratings, primarily at TLC. Distribution revenues grew 14% the company said.
