Kotch Joins ‘Today’ as Senior Producer

Aug 19, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Noah Kotch, an alumnus of “Good Morning America,” has been named a senior producer on NBC’s “Today.” He started Monday, while his new colleagues were at the midpoint of their stay in Beijing.
The hire, first reported Tuesday on TVNewser.com, maintains the morning show’s Noah quotient. Mr. Kotch succeeds Noah Oppenheim, the senior producer who had focused on the first hour of “Today”; he left to join Reveille Entertainment.
According to an internal e-mail from “Today” executive producer Jim Bell, Mr. Kotch’s “focus will be on, but not limited to, the 7 a.m. hour. As we’ve seen, the ability to move segments around is a great strength for us and that flexibility will continue to benefit the show.”
Mr. Kotch joined ABC News in 1993 and eventually became head writer for “World News Tonight With Peter Jennings.” He spent three years at “GMA” focused on live interviews and the show’s writing. He helped relaunch “Nightline” and then became senior producer in the ABC News Digital Media Group. His wife, Gena, is a “20/20” producer.
