NBC has picked up its summer reality competition series “America’s Got Talent” for a fourth season.
The show, featuring judges David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan and host Jerry Springer, has been averaging 13 million viewers in its third season this summer, up 16% from last year’s average.
“The production team has stepped up their game creatively as proven by the strong ratings,” said Craig Plestis, NBC Entertainment’s executive vice president of alternative programming, development and specials.
“Talent” features groups and individuals showcasing their talents for the panel of judges and ultimately America’s vote for a shot at $1 million and the chance to headline a hotel in Las Vegas. Earlier this year season-two winner Terry Fator, a ventriloquist, signed a five-year, $100 million deal to perform nightly at the Mirage Casino & Resort.
FremantleMedia North America and Syco Television produce the show. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Jason Raff, James Sunderland and Georgie Hurford-Jones serve as executive producers.
