HD programming picks for Aug. 21-27: “Remember the Titans,” Little League World Series, “Dazed and Confused”
“Remember the Titans” (Starz). Fri., Aug. 22, 8 p.m. Denzel Washington stars as the coach of a 1971 Virginia high school football team that overcomes the challenges of racial integration to compete for the state title. Based on a true story.
Little League World Series (ABC). Sat., Aug. 23. Teams from locales ranging from South Lake Charles, La., to Saudi Arabia take it to the diamonds of Williamsport, Pa., in the 62nd annual Little League World Series. The international championship matchup is at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by the U.S. championship at 3:30 p.m.
“Dazed and Confused” (Cinemax). Mon., Aug. 25, 10:15 p.m. Upperclassmen of a Texas high school spend the night after 1976’s last day of school discussing life, looking for beer and tormenting underclassmen, all amid a haze of glory. Richard Linklater wrote and directed this 1993 comedy, with Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey leading the ensemble cast.
