Journalists Predict Primetime Emmy Winners

The Envelope’s Gold Derby blog has posted a list of predictions for the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Participants were asked to predict the winners and the results were divided into two groups, Team TV Journos and Team The Envelope.
Both groups favored “Mad Men” for drama series, “30 Rock” for comedy series, “John Adams” for ,iniseries and “Damages” star Glenn Close for actress in a drama series.
However, Team The Envelope gave the edge to “Entourage’s” Jeremy Piven for supporting actor in a comedy series, while Team TV Journos favored Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”). Team The Envelope also favored likely repeat winners and “Boston Legal” co-stars James Spader and William Shatner in their respective categories.
Team TV Journos included Michael Ausiello (Entertainment Weekly), Marc Berman (MediaWeek), Robert Bianco (USA Today), Hal Boedeker (Orlando Sentinel), John Kubicek (BuddyTV), Lisa de Moraes (Washington Post), Maggie Furlong (AOL Television), Michele Greppi (TelevisionWeek), Matt Mitovich (TVGuide.com), Ray Richmond (Hollywood Reporter), Matt Roush (TV Guide), Maureen Ryan (Chicago Tribune) and Michael Starr (New York Post)
Team The Envelope featured Chris “Boomer” Beachum (Gold Derby forums), Elena Howe (The Envelope), Robert Licuria (AwardsHeaven.net, Gold Derby forums), Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby, The Envelope) and Andrew Pickett (Gold Derby forums).
The Primetime Emmy Awards air Sept. 21 on ABC.
